SOCIAREM

SOCIAREM

Solar Open Community Instruments for All Residents in Europe & the Mediterranean

OUR OBJECTIVES

Embed sustainability, social equity, and regulatory insights into REC operation

Integrate Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles into community engagement. Produce policy recommendations and regulatory guidelines to remove barriers to PV adoption and support fair participation.

Prepare market uptake and long-term exploitation of SOCIAREM solutions

Develop dissemination, communication, and exploitation strategies to ensure the project’s results reach stakeholders, support scalability, enable commercialisation where relevant, and remain accessible as open tools for wider adoption.

Enable advanced energy sharing and trading through decentralised platforms

Establish secure blockchain-based solutions for peer-to-peer energy exchange, plus fair and transparent billing and settlement systems. Develop social-data-based mechanisms to ensure equitable energy distribution in RECs.

Test and validate all solutions in real-world demonstration sites across Europe

Deploy the technological and social tools in four diverse Renewable Energy Communities (CH, CY, PT, IT) to demonstrate scalability, performance, user acceptance, and readiness for market uptake.

Develop innovative tools to optimise PV systems and Renewable Energy Communities (RECs)

Create smart, modular, user-centric tools that improve the efficiency, accessibility, and profitability of solar PV systems. This includes optimisation algorithms, planning tools, and network analysis instruments tailored to different regions and community structures.

Strengthen citizen engagement through education, gamification, and adaptive digital tools

Use data-driven profiling, dynamic user interfaces, and a serious game to increase awareness, participation, and energy literacy among citizens, adapting content to diverse cultural and geographical contexts.
