The Swiss demo site in Dübendorf is a pioneering vertical district that brings together residential units, offices, fitness facilities, EV chargers, heat pumps, data centres, and even an electrolyser under one coordinated energy ecosystem. Its diverse and demanding environment allows SOCIAREM to test advanced EMS algorithms, flexible load management, and PV self-consumption strategies at a highly granular level. The project explores how real-time optimisation, large data flows, and P2P trading concepts can support a new generation of smart district solutions. The site also serves as a user-engagement hub through a Serious Game that promotes energy awareness.
